Get it at the iTunes Store.
You are traveling. You have a wonderful espresso in a small European town plaza, and you want to remember the experience and the location. You need to write it down —maybe it's just a couple of sentences— and store it so that you can be reasonably sure it will be available many years from now.
Ideally, you'd want the geographical coordinates of the place stored as well, and the date. And your iPhone is off-line, because you don't want to pay roaming charges.
Map Jotting is an iPhone app that solves this problem in the simplest and cleanest possible way. It lets you enter notes, and it stores them, together with the latitude and longitude of the place where you took them, in a plain text file in a Dropbox folder.
The text file is named after the date and time, something like
and it contains
lat, long: 41.384133, 2.177465 Local datetime: 2014-06-18 09:55:07 UTC datetime: 2014-06-18 07:55:07 Just finished an exquisite coffee. Fascinated by the history of this place: from the romans onwards, so many things have happened right here!
You are storing your thoughts and the location in the safest possible way. Just search for the coordinates in google maps, and you'll be taken right back there.
And it doesn't matter if you were not online when you took the notes. Back to the hotel, connect to the wifi: they will automatically upload to Dropbox.
This is what I am using to keep track of my trips with my family. I hope you'll enjoy it as well.
