Projects

Online

GreaterSkies.com is a repository of things I want to explain to my children about math and science.

Gpostit is my most recent large project: annotate your world, write and save virtual graffiti associated with any geographic location, and link to it from your own pages.

Mitup is a rather old prototype of a service for organizing events. You define the event, invite people, track expected attendance, and chat with other people attending.

I have done several more online applications over the years, but they are either inside firewalls or off-line.

Offline

I am working on several programs, some of which will see the light. A note management system, which is what I use to generate this web and GreaterSkies; a file management system that allows me to bypass directories as a method for organizing files; a program that generates a postscript file with a view of the sky from a certain location and at a given date, with thousands of stars on it, the constellations and the planets, which I use to print beautiful posters to give as presents; a personal finance program that does what I think these programs should do ---store the data in text files that I can edit with emacs, make simulations of the future, and tell me which is the minimum amont of money I will have in the next months according to my current account and my expected expenses; and a program for a relative to control exactly how many hours she spends working, and on what.
